WEST4MEDIA gewinnt Emmy!

Start of the Red Bull Air Race season 2009

Traditionally the Red Bull Air Race World Championship kicks off in Abu Dhabi. In 2009, WEST4MEDIA is on board again at all championship stops to produce and broadcast the unique television show in high definition to over 130 countries worldwide.

The Red Bull Air Race is the fastest motorsport in the world. Top speeds of 370 km/h and forces of up to 12 g in a three dimensional environment make it the most exciting competition on Earth for many race fans. The World Championship takes place in the most outstanding locations around the globe and crowds of up to one million people make the atmosphere unique.

Covering this unique type of sport on worldwide television is a tremendous challenge. In order to live up to the high expectations the organisers have relied on WEST4MEDIA since 2005. The Austrian company acts as host broadcaster and has a complex field of operation: over two hours of live programming on qualifying and race day, a 52-minute highlight programme to be finished one day later, plus news edits on the days leading up to the events as well as countless web clips covering all relevant topics.

WEST4MEDIA coordinates more than 80 people on the spot who actively work on the TV broadcast. 20 cameras on the ground, a Cineflex equipped helicopter and two onboard cameras in every race plane have taken the Red Bull Air Race to new heights from a television perspective.
